Rase Romanesti, Gat golas romanesc

Zburatorul gat-golas romanesc este o varietate a Zburatorilor ciungi rosii de Bucuresti, raspandita mai ales in Muntenia. Prima atestare documentara dateaza din 1899, cand este publicata prima descriere, in ziarul unguresc Szarnysaink (Zburatorii nostrii), apoi Istvan Peterfi publica in 1952,in ziarul suedez Svensk Duvavelsförnings Tidskrift, articolul Zburatorul Gat-Golas. Sunt buni zburatori, urca repede la mare inaltime si pot zbura, daca sunt bine antrenati, intre 5 si 10 ore. Este un porumbel de talie mijlocie spre mica, cu constitutie destul de puternica, dar proportionala cu linii mai alungite, lung de 31-35 cm. Corpul are greutatea de 250-300g, cu tinuta aproape orizontala, scade usor spre coada. Ceea ce il face sa fie un porumbel unicat este gatul sau golas sau chel, ca la gaina Gat-golas de Transilvania, adica lipsit de pene, de la barbie si din dreptul urechilor pana aproape de gusa. Are pielea zbarcita, usor cheratinizata si este de culoare maro-rosiatica inchis. Crescatorii care au pentru prima oara porumbei gat-golasi in porumbaria lor se bucura desigur vazand cat de golas este gatul puilor cand acestia parasesc cuibul. Apoi la naparlirea puilor observa ca acestora le cresc teci sau tuleie care acopera goliciunea gatului. Nu este motiv de ingrijorare. Cu ocazia naparlirii penajului apar asemenea tuleie si pe gaturile porumbeilor adulti, dar apoi se usuca si cad, iar gatul redevine golas.
